Our Purpose

SERVE Afghanistan’s purpose is to offer hope to the people of Afghanistan, especially the needy, as we seek to address personal, social and environmental needs.

UK Registered Charity

SERVE Afghanistan is a charitable organisation registered in the UK (no.1105086). From 1980 it assisted Afghan refugees in Pakistan. After the fall of the communist government the projects were gradually moved into Afghanistan. By the end of 1998 the work among the refugees in Pakistan was closed down.

Funding Sources

SERVE's funding comes from a combination of private agency donations, government co-funding, trusts, foundations, charities and concerned individuals. Its accounts and books are audited annually by an external chartered accountant. In 2008 SERVE provided full time paid employment to over 200 Afghan nationals, male and female.

On the Ground

SERVE Afghanistan is registered with the government of Afghanistan and works in cooperation with UN bodies and other local, as well as international development organisations.

Head Office

SERVE Afghanistan's head office is located in Kabul. All administrative support staff work from here.

Regional Offices

Currently there are regional offices in:

  • Jalalabad
  • Kabul
  • Kandahar

Staff

SERVE’s expatriate staff are professionally qualified and usually volunteers. SERVE provides paid employment to over 200 full time Afghan nationals, male and female.
